To the victims of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake (the Great East Japan Earthquake), let me express our deepest sympathy to all of the victims of the earthquake.
The disaster of the Great Tohoku and Kanto Earthquake was at the greatest scale, that we have ever experienced. It is still a difficult and unpredictable situation following the large earthquake, the tsunami, the nuclear accident, and the planned blackouts. The Japanese Association of Occupational Therapists has started an ad-hoc disaster management committee as early in this tragedy, and is coping with the situation, but long-term support will be necessary.
It is our deepest hope that the revival of the region will come as soon as possible.
